Important message from Michele Baranaskas about Kroger Cards:

“Now that CTC is a 501©3 nonprofit organization, we are starting our fundraising plan! One project is selling Kroger Cares Gift Cards as a fundraiser. Due to just starting this fundraiser, anyone interested in obtaining a card must pay $5 up front so that we can pay for the cards when we pick them up.

Once you receive your card that is coded for Kanawha CTC, you can load it up to $500 and use it to pay for purchases at Kroger, including your purchases at Kroger gas stations! You can still use your Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card to obtain discounts and points toward gasoline purchases. The trick is to remember to keep your Kroger Gift Card loaded and to remember to take it with you when you go to make your purchases. If you shop or buy gas at Kroger already as I do, this is a convenient way for Kanawha CTC to raise money. We aren’t spending any extra money than we normally would spend. The donation comes from Kroger. If you don’t already shop or buy gasoline at Kroger, I encourage you to start doing so to help benefit Kanawha CTC.

Once $5,000 of purchases are made in one month, Kanawha CTC receives 5% of that amount. If we don’t reach $5,000 in one month, the amount we’ve accumulated will carry over to the next month. If we do reach $5,000 in a month, then we receive a check for the 5% and start at zero for the next month. It is important for you to keep reloading your card and getting in the habit of using it for purchases at Kroger.
